What Truth Will A Polygraph Test Reveal? Know How Far The CBI Investigation Has Reached In The Kolkata Incident.


The incident of brutality on a doctor in Kolkata has shocked the entire country. Doctors are angry, protests are going on in many places across the country. Doctors are on strike and are demanding their protection. Parents are pleading for justice after their daughter was raped and murdered. It is suspected that more than one person is involved in this incident. They are demanding justice for their daughter at any cost. On the other hand, the CBI is investigating the incident. The CBI has not been able to make much progress in the investigation so far. The CBI has roped in its most dynamic officer Seema Pahuja in the probe.

On Monday, once again the investigation team reached RG Medical College. On entry, the team went straight to the top floor of the emergency ward. Members of the investigation team were seen going upstairs and taking measurements from there. It is believed that the CBI team had come to try to find out if there was a passage on the upper roof through which someone from outside could directly reach the seminar hall. He may have carried out the incident on the fourth floor and exited via the upper passage.

Hospital guards were also present along with the CBI team. These are the security guards who are said to be on duty at the hospital on the night of the incident. After a long stay on the hospital roof, he went straight to the trauma center. After checking in the trauma center, the team reached the OT.

CBI is probing every nook and cranny

It is being told that on the evening of the incident, accused Sanjay Rai was the first to go to the trauma center. After this he reached OT. CBI was seen investigating where Sanjay Rai went on the day of the incident. A digital X-ray and MRI building was also reached.

On the fourth day the inquiry of the former principal

For the fourth consecutive day on Monday, CBI officials questioned Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, in connection with the murder probe. Ghosh reached the CBI’s city office at CGO Complex on Monday morning. After receiving news of the doctor’s death, Ghosh was asked about his role.

According to sources, many other questions were also asked to Ghosh. The question was raised as to why the parents of the victim had to wait for 3 hours in the hospital. The former principal was also questioned as to who ordered the renovation of the room near the seminar hall in the emergency building of the hospital after the incident.

Purva Acharya’s WhatsApp chats are being probed

CBI officials have interrogated Ghosh for several hours in the last three days since Friday. Along with his mobile phone call details, his WhatsApp chats are also being scrutinized. Ghosh resigned as principal of RG Kar Medical College on August 9, two days after the woman’s body was found in the hospital’s seminar hall.

He expressed apprehension of being assaulted, following which his lawyer sought protection from the Calcutta High Court. The court directed him to knock the door of the single bench. The body of the post-graduate trainee doctor was found on August 9 from the seminar room of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Police arrested a guard in this connection the next day.

Union Ministry of Health has taken 5 major steps so far-

  • Security will be increased by 25 percent in all central hospitals of the country.
  • Security related systems like CCTV and lighting will be enhanced in central hospitals, a letter has also been written to the states.
  • The number of marshals will be increased in central hospitals.
  • An advisory has been issued to all states for the protection of health workers.
  • States have also been instructed to lodge an FIR within 6 hours of any such incident.
  • The government is ready to immediately set up a committee on all issues related to the safety of health workers, which has been thrown open to all institutions.

Talks with the Union Health Ministry were again inconclusive

A meeting of doctors was also held with the Union Health Ministry on Monday. Although the meeting was inconclusive, the doctors’ strike will continue tomorrow. For the last 10 days, junior doctors have been on a continuous strike and protest to get the culprits of the Kolkata incident punished.

Approval of polygraph test

A Kolkata court on Monday allowed the CBI to conduct a polygraph test on accused Sanjay Roy. No date has been set for the test yet as some procedures are still pending. Through the polygraph test, the CBI will try to find out whether the accused is lying during the interrogation.
