Anyone who heard the news of the brutal rape-murder of a trainee doctor in West Bengal’s capital, Kolkata, felt the ground slip away from under their feet. Doctors went on strike against this barbarism. A huge protest is taking place outside the RG Car Hospital. Meanwhile, the investigation of this case has been handed over to the Calcutta High Court. Allegations are also being made against the state government. At the same time, an MP from the ruling party TMC has raised questions against his own government and announced his participation in the protest.
TMC MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy said he would join the ongoing protest against the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday. While sharing the post on X, he said he is doing this specifically because like millions of Bengali families, he too has a daughter and a young granddaughter. In such a situation, we have to rise to the occasion. A lot of cruelty has been done to women. Let us all oppose this together. No matter what happens.

He had earlier called it a case of suicide. Sukhendu Shekhar Roy is a big leader of TMC. He was elected as Rajya Sabha MP from West Bengal in the year 2011. Since then he has been a member of the Upper House.
CBI will milk milk, water water!
When the matter reached the Kolkata High Court, the police could not answer the court’s questions. The court asked why the then principal was posted in another college, why the principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh was not interrogated, why there was a delay in showing the dead body to the family members? The police do not have the answer to these questions. After this, the High Court ordered Principal Dr. Sandeep Kumar Ghosh to go on leave. After which the court handed over the investigation to the CBI. On the orders of the High Court, the CBI has conducted the investigation. CBI will get case diary and other records from police today. Along with this, a team of CBI officials along with doctors and forensic experts will go to Kolkata to inspect the incident.
The body of a trainee doctor was found on August 8 at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College Hospital. The post-mortem report confirmed murder after sexual assault. The incident took place late at night in the seminar hall on the third floor of the chest department. The main accused, Sanjay Roy, has been arrested, but the police have not yet ruled out the involvement of others in the crime. The post-mortem report also stated that this heinous act was not committed by a single person but suggested the involvement of others.
Is there an attempt to tamper with evidence?
Here, the investigation into the Lady Doctor rape and murder has now been handed over to the CBI following a Kolkata High Court order, but questions are being raised over the repair work that had already begun near the seminar room of RG Kar Hospital. This question is important because the dead body of the lady doctor was found in this seminar room. Then what is the rush that repair work has been started here. There are fears that the evidence may be tampered with and destroyed before the CBI arrives.
