‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ has completed 28 years since its release. The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In which Manisha Koirala was seen as the lead actress along with Salman Khan. For Manisha, it would not be wrong to say that this picture made her fortune shine overnight. Now Manisha has made a big revelation about this film. He said that he was not the first choice for the film. In a recent interview, he spoke openly about this.
Speaking to PTI, Manisha said, “I did ‘Khamoshi’ 28 years ago and I was not his (Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s) first choice for the role. I remember we became friends and he just said, ‘Manisha, I have written this script, just read it. You are not acting in this, Kajol and Madhuri are my favourites.’
What did Sanjay Leela Bhansali say to Manisha?
Interestingly, Manisha thought it was a great script for any actress and told Sanjay Leela Bhansali, “If it doesn’t come together, it’s me?” This debut film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali was probably slated for Koirala and he eventually starred in the film. Manisha played a character named Braganza in this film. Braganza’s role was such that he loved music. The film shows how he handles his passion and family simultaneously. In the movie, Braganza’s parents cannot speak or hear. However, how did Manisha get this film? Did Madhuri and Kajol refuse to do it? Manisha has not said anything about this.
