Why Is CM Nitish Kumar Trying To Target Upper Castes With Love-Kush In Bihar?

Those who understand politics know very well that Nitish Kumar is the King of Bihar. Hence, Nitish Kumar has also decided whether Upendra Kushwaha will go to Rajya Sabha from BJP’s quota. The CM has almost decided that Sarayu Rai will go to the Rajya Sabha as the second candidate. In this situation Nitish has also decided the name of Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha for the MLC, as the second MLC Nitish has made up his mind about Manish Verma, who has recently been made the General Secretary of JDU. Nitish’s strategy shows that after consolidating his base votebank, he is also trying to corner the Rajput community, which has been alienated from him for years.

Many names were discussed in the Bihar BJP election committee meeting on Sunday. But Upendra Kushwaha’s name was missing in that meeting. This is certainly a matter of curiosity. But it is also true that BJP had already announced the name of Upendra Kushwaha under the pressure of Nitish Kumar before the announcement of Rajya Sabha elections. So considering Kushwaha’s politics, it seems very unlikely that BJP will not send Upendra Kushwaha to Rajya Sabha. As a strategy, the BJP is definitely saying in a quiet tone that Nitish Kumar will decide on Upendra Kushwaha.

There is no question of backing down on the name of Upendra Kushwaha

The BJP’s thinking behind this strategy is that if Nitish openly names Upendra Kushwaha, then Kushwaha will be considered the JDU candidate. Expert politician Nitish has already announced the name of Upendra Kushwaha from the then BJP state president and current deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary. So the question of retreating in the name of Upendra Kushwaha does not arise. The BJP will not want to lose Kushwaha’s politicking by doing so, even as the RJD has sent a big message ahead of the assembly polls by making Abhay Kushwaha the leader of its parliamentary party.

JDU is eyeing to make inroads among the Rajputs

Obviously, Nitish wants to send one of the two candidates, Upendra Kushwaha, from the BJP quota. At the same time, by sending Sarayu Rai from the JDU quota, Nitish is trying to make a big dent among the Rajputs. Nitish is trying to hit many targets with one stone by sending Saryu Rai to Rajya Sabha. On the one hand, Nitish has worked to send a positive message to Rajputs by releasing Anand Mohan Singh from jail and giving ticket to his wife Lovely Anand from Shivhar. After blessing the independent candidate Shankar Singh from Rupauli, Nitish Kumar has now started thinking of sending Saryu Rai to the Rajya Sabha.

It is obvious that what BJP was trying to do by sending RK Singh to Rajya Sabha, Nitish Kumar is trying to do by sending Saryu Rai to Rajya Sabha. So that apart from his base vote bank in Bihar, Nitish can also make a strong hold among the upper castes and bring the vote bank that is slipping away from the BJP into his party. Not only this, by doing this, Nitish Kumar also wants to give a jaw-dropping reply to RJD state president Jagdanand Singh, who has always been a staunch opponent of Nitish Kumar in politics.

Why even two MLCs want their choice Nitish?

Nitish is trying to strengthen the Aadhar vote bank. Therefore, Chief Minister Manish Verma has objected to sending people from the Kurmi community to the Legislative Council. Nitish has already announced the name of Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha of Kushwaha community. Nitish is trying to fully tap the Aadhar votebank of Kurmi and Kushwaha before the next assembly elections. So, Nitish Kumar is working on a strategy to send two Kushwaha community leaders to the Rajya Sabha and one Kurmi leader to the Legislative Council.

Nitish knows that the central government is running with his support. So it is not possible for BJP to reject his proposal. So Nitish Kumar is trying to destroy RJD with every step he takes, while BJP remains in the role of younger brother in Bihar, this is his strategy.

Why was BJP forced to kneel before Nitish?

The BJP has accepted Nitish Kumar as the leader for the upcoming assembly elections only after the results of the Lok Sabha elections. The main reason for this is the presence of 12 JDU MPs at the Centre. Apparently, the NDA does not have enough numbers in the Rajya Sabha either. Hence, it seems very unlikely that BJP can run the government at the center without Nitish. Nitish now wants to return to pre-2014 status quo. So by sending Sarayu Rai to the Rajya Sabha, Nitish wants to expand his presence beyond Bihar to Jharkhand.

Along with this, Nitish wants to maintain a strong hold on the extremely backward people apart from the upper caste base vote bank. This is the reason why apart from Legislative Council, Nitish is constantly making pressure to take a decision in Rajya Sabha too, while by allocating 58 thousand 900 crore rupees for Bihar, he has given the entire country the confidence of his party’s strength. The Bihar state BJP unit may hold a meeting and send a list of several names to the central leadership, but in the end, it seems certain that Nitish’s decision will prevail.
