Why Is Shambhu Border Not Opened Even After The High Court’s Order? Know The Whole Matter

Why is Shambhu border not opened even after the High Court order?

Shambhu border has not opened even after the strict order of Punjab and Haryana High Court. The High Court ordered the Haryana government to remove the barricades and open the road within a week. The High Court issued these orders on July 10, a week has passed since the order was issued but the situation at the Shambhu border remains unchanged. A Public Interest Litigation was filed by Advocate Uday Pratap to open the Delhi-Amritsar National Highway. However, now they are going to file a dispute petition in the High Court on Thursday, as the road is yet to be opened by the Haryana government.

On the other hand, the Haryana government filed a petition in the Supreme Court on July 13, the Supreme Court will hear the matter on July 22. In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, the Haryana government relied on law and order and said that despite the clear reference to the legal order, the High Court has given orders to open the Shambhu border without knowing the ground reality. He said that under the constitution, law and order is the subject of the state government, meaning that the Haryana government has made it clear that if the road is opened, law and order may be shaken.

Farmers have announced to march towards Delhi

Even after the order of the High Court, the farmers have once again announced to go to Delhi. Kisan Net Jagjit Singh Dhale said that as soon as the Shambhu border barricades open, he will leave for Delhi, collect his belongings from there and take a tractor trolley to Delhi. Farmers are constantly saying that this road has not been blocked by us but by the Haryana government. The farmers also say that after the High Court order, it has become clear that the Haryana government has blocked the road. And traders have also suffered due to roadblocks by the Haryana government. Daily commuters are also getting disturbed, they say that if the government accepts our demands, they will go back.

The farmers’ strike has been going on for 5 months

Farmers’ protest has been going on since February 13 at Shambhu border. The farmers left for Delhi with 12 demands, including legal guarantee of MSP, but the Haryana government stopped them at the Shambhu border between Patiala district and Ambala. On that day there was a huge uproar as the farmers were stopped. When the eight-layer barricading was put up there by the Haryana Police, the farmers tried to break it but failed, so the farmers sat there. Since then the protest of the farmers has been going on. Farmers are also sitting on the Khanori border of Haryana and Punjab in the same way.

Now what next?

Farmers are waiting for Shambhu border to open so they can move towards Delhi. On the other hand, the Haryana government is not opening the barricades as it has approached the Supreme Court and is awaiting the Supreme Court’s order. The Supreme Court is going to hear this matter on July 22. If a controversial petition is filed in the High Court tomorrow, the High Court responds to it immediately, it may spell trouble for the Haryana government. Because the High Court itself had given strict orders to open the road.
