Will Delhi Government Make Artificial Rain? A Plan Is Already Being Prepared For Winter Pollution

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai will write to the Union Environment Minister regarding artificial rainfall and talk of a joint meeting with IIT Kanpur. Gopal Rai says that necessary permissions related to artificial rainfall can be completed in time by holding a joint meeting.

The Kejriwal government held a meeting with experts at the Secretariat on Thursday to discuss the preparation of a winter action plan to protect Delhi from pollution. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the number of days with clean air in Delhi was 110 days in 2016, which has increased to 206 days in 2023. He said that in 2023, the number of constructions and vehicles has increased as compared to 2016.

What did Gopal Rai say on the Winter Action Plan?

Gopal Rai, environment minister in the Delhi government, said that pollution in the capital is divided into two parts. He said that from October to January the pollution remains at a severe level while between February and September the pollution remains at a moderate level. He said that a winter action plan is being prepared to protect the people of Delhi from pollution in winter. Gopal Rai said that suggestions are being taken from experts to prepare the winter action plan. A meeting of all departments has been called for this, people from all departments will give their suggestions.

Gopal Rai said that a meeting will be held on September 5 with all concerned departments. Officials of all departments present in the meeting will give suggestions regarding winter action plan. He said that the officers present in the meeting will be assigned responsibilities based on the focus points determined by the concerned department.
