Mamata Banerjee, Sheikh Hasina and demonstrations in Bangladesh.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has compared the protests in Bangladesh following the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. He accused BJP and CPM that CPI(M) and BJP were conspiring to topple their government like in Bangladesh. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee raised this issue in her speech on the eve of Independence Day. “Many people think that their government will be overthrown like in Bangladesh, but I don’t care about power,” Mamata said.

On Wednesday, Mamata Banerjee participated in a pre-Independence Day event in Behala. From there he talked a lot about the RG Tax incident and its protest movement.

Mamata Banerjee said that CPI(M) and BJP are playing politics on the issue of RG tax. An incident has come to light in Bangladesh. Many people are thinking that they will seize power here like what happened in Bangladesh. But remember, I’m not bashing authority figures. I will bring justice to people as long as I live. Even after learning about this incident, I worked hard with the police. But he went to the High Court. The judge ordered a CBI probe in his hearing on Tuesday.

I will not lean towards any party

Mamata Banerjee said that the ongoing agitation against the RG tax incident is being organized by a particular political party. He said, ‘Most of the people who are protesting are not students. Political parties are doing this in a systematic way. Thinking of removing him from power. She said I will not stoop to injustice, I will not stoop. If necessary, I will bow to the public, but not to any political party.

Hasina’s ouster after violent protests

It is to be noted that Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country by resigning from the post of Prime Minister due to the widespread student agitation over the demand for reservation in Bangladesh. Currently he has taken refuge in India. The anti-reservation movement gradually took the form of an anti-government movement in Bangladesh. Some compared that movement to the RG Tax movement. Mamata Banerjee raised that topic in a pre-independence event. Mamata attacked CPM and BJP from the platform of the program. The Trinamool has also called for a counter program against this ‘political conspiracy’.
