Mahamandleshwar pilot Baba of Old Akhara passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday after prolonged illness. Controversial pilot Baba will be laid to rest in Haridwar. On this occasion it is necessary to take a look at the life of Pilot Baba. The pilot, who turned 86, was born as Kapil Singh. He was aggressive from childhood. Coincidentally, he was also intelligent so he became a pilot in the Air Force and was soon promoted to the rank of Wing Commander. During his service, Pilot Baba participated first in the Indo-China War and then twice in the Indo-Pakistan War and proved his bravery. He was also honored for this.

One incident changed life

An incident occurred during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War that Wing Commander Kapil Singh became disillusioned with the world and decided to retire. In fact, during the war, his aircraft MiG-21 suffered a technical fault. Wing Commander Kapil Singh felt that his life was over now. He remembered his Guru. He wrote in a book that his guide immediately came into the cockpit and helped him land safely. This disgusted Kapil Singh and as soon as the war ended he applied for the VRS.

After retirement, he took formal initiation in the year 1974 and joined the old Akhara and became a monk. In the Juna Akhara, he received the title of Mahamandaleshwar in the year 1998 and then in the year 2010, he was ordained as Pithadhiswara in the ancient Juna Akhara of the Sivagiri Ashram Neelkanth Temple in Ujjain. Born in a Rajput family living in Sasaram in Rohtas district of Bihar, Kapil Singh received his education from BHU. While studying here, he was selected as a pilot officer in the Air Force.

Kapil Singh, who was moving towards renunciation after retiring from the army, also stayed in Bollywood for a few days. He did successful films like Ek Phool Do Mali. After this he became a complete recluse. After adopting a spiritual life, he initiated the famous actress Manisha Koirala. At the same time, many big personalities of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were bowing before Baba. According to Mr. Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj, custodian of Juna Akhara, Baba wanted his Samadhi to be in Haridwar, so Baba will be cremated today as per his wish.

Pilot Baba is always in controversies

Pilot Baba had a deep connection with controversies. During his service in the army, he was accused of arbitrariness. The first controversy after becoming a monk was the allegation of driving vehicles on devotees during the Kumbh Mela. This case is from the year 2010 Aquarius. On April 14, when Pilot Baba’s convoy left for the royal bath, several people were run over by vehicles. Many people jumped into the river to save their lives and were washed away. A case was also registered against him in this matter. Similarly in Hathras there was a stampede to pray at his feet. A case of land grabbing was then registered in Nainital. He also went to jail in this case. Not only this, a sting operation was also conducted on Baba, in which he was converting black money into white.

Information about foreign devotees is not given

Pilot Baba’s ashram is at Kumalata village on the Gangotri National Highway, 25 km from Uttarkashi district headquarters. Local and foreign devotees keep coming here. However, Pilot Baba never disclosed this information to the police and administration. When it is mandatory to do so. The police were always worried about this. Not only this, Pilot Baba has not only taken over government land for his ashram, but has also constructed a helipad in a sensitive area.
